Frankfort Times

Frankfort moved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Sagamore Athletic
Conference with a doubleheader sweep of Danville Thursday. The Hot Dogs
won the first game, 17-3 and the second one, 11-3.

The Hot Dogs
had 19 hits in the first game and scored seven runs in the first,
powered by Dustin Rutledge’s bases-loaded triple. Blake Ayers came on
in relief of Alex Palmer in the second inning and got the win. They
combined to only give up three hits. Palmer had four hits to lead
Frankfort and Rutledge finished with five RBIs.

In
the second game, Frankfort left the bases loaded in the first two
innings to keep the game close, but big third and fourth innings
allowed the Hot Dogs to pull away. Brody Click (2-0) picked up the win
for the Hot Dogs, going five innings. Everyone in the starting lineup
had a hit in the game, led by Drew Varner’s 3-for-3 performance.

Carroll 9, Rossville 5

Rossville
dropped to 1-6 and 0-2 in the Hoosier Heartland Conference with a 9-5
loss to Carroll Thursday. Charlie Nichols led the Hornets with three
RBIs, including a 2-run homer in the fifth inning. Matt Ummel also
added a solo shot in the stanza. Nathan McGill was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
